Who should Bradford City sign in the summer?

With just nine games remaining for the rest of the season, the 2019/20 campaign has been nothing but a disappointment.

From the origination of the '100 points Gary Bowyer' chant at Rochdale in pre-season, the Bantams have a very difficult run in for the remainder of the season with 5 of the 9 opponents being in higher positions than City at this current time. Bradford have also sacked and replaced Gary Bowyer with club stalwart Staurt McCall, however his management is yet to have a positive effect on a less than desirable Bantams team.

With that in mind, I will right now be looking at potential targets who could possibly bolster City's squad under McCall next season.

Max Clayton- the forward is currently a free agent after being released by Blackpool last season. He began his career at League Two title contenders Crewe Alexandra, where he made 74 appearances to impress Lancashire outfit Bolton Wanderers. The then-Championship side secured his signing in 2014 when he refused a contract at his boyhood club, however Crewe received a tribunal fee of £300k. Upon his contract expiring, Blackpool signed him but his career at the Tangerines was short-lived due to constant hamstring problems, and he left the club.

Remie Streete- Streete was once an upcoming prospect at Newcastle United but was released in 2015 and snapped up by Port Vale. At Port Vale he proved himself as a dominant leader at centre-back, making fifty appearances before leaving the club as they could no longer afford his wages. He then had trials at AFC Wimbledon, Port Vale (just to retain fitness) and Notts County but has not returned to football since. He would be a unit in this league.

Will Miller- the final current free agent on this list, the ex-Tottenham youth prospect and child actor (he played Oliver Twist in 2008 on the BBC), was most recently at Burton Albion before being released. He is still fairly young at the age of 23 and could be a decent left sided attacker to lead City forward as his versatility is one of his main skills.

Brett Pitman- the Portsmouth captain is an excellent leader who is out of contract in the Summer and still has enough about him to be a fantastic addition in League Two. So far he has had 37 goals in 81 outings for Pompey.

Oliver Hawkins- yet another Pompey forward but this one is a huge towering striker. Previously he has also had experience of playing in defence at Dagenham and Redbridge, but that will be irrelevant. Hawkins is a proper League Two target man who could really bully defences in this league. With the correct supply from a creative midfield he could be a force to be reckoned with.

Romain Vincelot- the former captain who led City out against Millwall in the 2017 League One play-off final, McCall is familiar with Vincelot. McCall will be looking for leaders to step up throughout the squad and the Frenchman could be an excellent role model to the less experienced in the squad.

Ryan McLaughlin- the 25 year-old could could fill in the void which has been evident in the right-back spot all season and is out of contract from Rochdale at the end of the season. He would be an excellent addition and is an attacking prowess when surging forward whilst also being a wall in the defence.

Ricardo Santos- yet another player who could improve the weak City defence would be the Portuguese Barnet man, who is also out of contract at the end of the season so he would cost nothing. He has proven himself at League Two and showed dedication by following the Bees into non-league, which is needed in Bradford right now.

George Williams- the last player on this list for now, the Forest Green man is a free agent in the summer and has been a constant attacking threat for the Vegan side all season. He was once considered a huge future star at Fulham and hopefully if he was at Valley Parade he could rekindle that sort of potential and flourish under McCall.
