As reported and speculated on Twitter, United States international Luca de la Torre has been linked with a switch to Valley Parade from London outfit Fulham FC.
de la Torre, who has made seven senior appearances for Fulham since signing his first professional deal with the Cottagers back in 2016, was born in San Diego, California in 1998. The 21 year old looks to be a bright prospect who began his youth progress into being a footballer at the Nomads Youth Soccer Club and San Diego Surf before making the brave decision to move to England to pursue a career at Fulham. Whilst failing to truly break into the first team at Craven Cottage, de la Torre made 43 youth appearances for the United States of America youth team, earning himself the single appearance at senior level for the American international side against the Republic of Ireland in 2018.
However, in recent time de la Torre has struggled to prove himself to manager Scott Parker and it looks likely that he will be released at the end of the season as his contract comes to a close, leaving an array of clubs sniffing around his inevitable talents and eager to give him a shot at the club. Alongside the Bantams, Oldham Athletic and Grimsby Town also appear to be interested in de la Torre's services and it could be possible that City will face a challenge to secure his contract for the future.
In terms of de la Torre's abilities, the American acts in midfield, either in the centre or on the right as an attacking midfielder. His creativity allows him to act with freedom and composure whilst supplying the chances to the strikers to help create chances and push for victory.
