Match Preview: Leyton Orient

Stuart McCall's Bradford City will look to rectify their situation after being defeated by Salford City in a lacklustre performance last Saturday.

In a game where City fans were left frustrated and disappointed by their team's continued away dread, they return to home soil (literally soil) up against London outfit Leyton Orient. The Bantams will also be trialling the new atmosphere stand in the north-west corner, something which could hopefully propel the West Yorkshire side to victory on Saturday.

Orient currently sit 17th in League Two table, 20 points clear out of the relegation zone which has become the home of Stevenage yet 16 points behind the play-off spot occupied by Northampton Town. It has become clear that Orient will be playing in the fourth division of English football next season which is certainly an achievement following the passing of manager Justin Edinburgh and the loss of Josh Koroma and Macauley Bonne to their respective Championship sides at the beginning of the season.

The last time these two sets was at Brisbane Road where no side managed to break the deadlock in a dour 0-0. Orient were entertained by a strong City defence as the home side failed to register a single shot on target back during the Gary Bowyer reign, but the Bradford attack proved incapable of finding that one goal to win the game. The best chance fell to then on-loan forward Aramide Oteh when his strike was denied by the legs of Sam Sargeant. Sargeant proved a wall in net once again when thwarting James Vaughan's second half driven shot.

In terms of now, the O's picked up the 3 points against Cambridge United in a 2-1 victory, something the Bantams have failed to do this season. The goals came from Jordan Maguire-Drew and Danny Johnson, but it could have been more if Cambridge goalkeeper Callum Burton hadn't been in excellent form.

O's boss Ross Embleton has a fully fit squad at his disposal for the upcoming fixture, which is sure to give the travelling fans a sense of confidence. This could spark a return for ex-Bradforians Josh Wright who received plenty of stick from the Bradford fans not only early on in the season, but whilst he was still at the club. It is still unclear whether if he will start however after being dropped by Embleton for the previous game against the U's.

In terms of the home side, McCall will be without Glenn Middleton who suffered a foot injury at the Peninsula Stadium last weekend. As usual Joe Riley is also unavailable alongside new signing Kurtis Guthrie.
